Each product is born of a concept or design, and our role is to bring it to life using materials and processes that are unique to us.

Processes

Hand molding

The frames are meticulously filled with sand, then an impression is made using a model of the product. The mold is then closed.

Electric ovens

Low- and medium-voltage electric furnaces produce cast irons without harming the environment.
Electric smelting has replaced coke-fired furnaces (cupola ovens) and generates less Co2 emissions.

Casting

At this stage, the cast iron is heated to 1400°C before being poured by our specialists into the mold previously made.

Stripping

24 hours later, the part is ready to be removed from its mold.
The sand is collected for reuse.

Deburring

The piece is then reworked by hand to remove any imperfections and make it as "clean" as possible.

Shot-blasting

This improvement phase consists in the cleaning of the part in detail before finishing operations, to restore its appearance in line with its model.

Metallization

Committed to the durability of our products, this process involves applying a layer of zinc to our cast-iron products to prevent rust and corrosion.

The paint

Each product is unique thanks to the previous steps, and the painting process makes each object even more exceptional, meeting your expectations as closely as possible.

Resistance and robustness

This material has proven its durability over time, but also in the face of the shocks that punctuate urban life.

In the case of stress brackets, their use has proved effective in preserving the aesthetics and functionality of brackets after major vehicle impacts.

Anti-corrosion

Cast iron products from Ghm receive an anti-corrosion treatment that ensures a long service life; components are first shot-blasted, then sandblasted, degreased, metallized with a zinc film and finally protected by powder coating.

Vandal-proof

Cast iron's natural resistance is an excellent defence against impacts and vandalism; its rigidity also avoids traditional products “resonance”.

Anti-posting and anti-graffiti

The textures and shapes of cast iron discourage illegal posting and graffiti.

Overload

Excellent scalability: a cast-iron product can accommodate more easily to overloads unforeseen during the creation of the product (flowering, signage, events, sound systems, etc.), while retaining a certain practical rigidity for the use of equipment (video surveillance, for example).
