Press review - Point of view

Point de Vue" magazine devoted 4 pages to the "Voyage à Nantes" project, in collaboration with Emmanuel Divet (in charge of the Voyage à Nantes project) and comic strip artist Cyril Pedrosa. The article retraces the idea behind the project, the history of the Wallace fountains and where they will be installed.

Aiming at restoring its five Wallace fountains, Nantes Métropole has decided to create four new water features in response to the Voyage à Nantes project. Coincidentally, the sculptor of these famous fountains, Auguste Lebourg, was from Nantes. 150 years ago, he was commissioned by Richard Wallace after the 1870 war to provide Parisians with the drinking water they were deprived of. The fountains were cast at Fonderies Durenne, the forerunners of GHM.

Wallace fountains now grace France in Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, Toulouse... and in the whole world like in Montreal, Lisbon, London and Los Angeles. From July onwards, they will be providing the people of Nantes with fresh water at various locations in the city (the Jardin de la Psalette, Square Louis-Bureau, Place Fernand-Soil and Rue des Etats). GHM is proud to have contributed to this magnificent project!
