Our iconic Wallace fountain, proudly made in the Haute-Marne region of France, is still as popular as ever!
Here are the contents of the page dedicated to the company and its fountain:
" Where do Wallace fountains come from?
They are the result of the generosity of Richard Wallace, a British man moved by the water shortages experienced in the 19th century during the Paris Commune. The first was installed in 1872 on Boulevard de la Villette. Like the next 49, it was financed by the wealthy English philanthropist, who also designed the shape. Today, there are 107 of them throughout the capital. They continue to be manufactured in Haute-Marne, in the foundries of GHM Sommevoire. Other French cities (Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes....) as well as other countries (Brazil, Canada, China, Spain, Portugal...) have their own Wallace fountains."
